ITALKO VHS Express Clearcoat 2:1 Kit

ITALKO VHS Express 2K Clearcoat is a professional Very High Solid acrylic clearcoat developed to accelerate automotive refinishing work while maintaining a high-quality finish.

Its high solid content provides excellent coverage and produces a durable, flexible coating with high gloss, depth and resistance to weathering, chemicals and mechanical wear.

The fast-curing formulation can be polished after approximately 3 hours of air drying at 20°C or after 5–10 minutes at 60°C.

Excellent flow and a practical 1.5-coat application system make it suitable for spot repairs, individual vehicle panels and larger refinishing work.

MIXING RATIO

By volume: 2 parts clearcoat to 1 part hardener
By weight: 100 parts clearcoat to 49 parts hardener

If required by the application conditions and coating system, add no more than:

• 10% compatible thinner by volume
• 9% compatible thinner by weight

Do not exceed the maximum thinner quantity.

APPLICATION

1. Ensure that the compatible basecoat has been correctly applied and dried according to its manufacturer’s instructions.
2. Mix the clearcoat and supplied hardener at a ratio of 2:1 by volume or 100:49 by weight.
3. If required, add a compatible thinner without exceeding the stated maximum quantity.
4. Mix thoroughly until completely uniform.
5. Apply using a spray gun with a 1.2–1.4mm nozzle at approximately 2.0–2.5 bar.
6. Apply 1.5 coats: one light half-coat followed by one full coat.
7. Allow approximately 5–10 minutes between coats.
8. After the final coat, allow approximately 10 minutes before accelerated drying.
9. Clean the spray equipment immediately after use with a suitable cleaning thinner.

DRYING TIMES

At 20°C:

• Dust-free: approximately 20 minutes
• Touch dry: approximately 2 hours
• Ready for polishing: approximately 3 hours
• Final hardness: approximately 72 hours

At 60°C:

• Ready for polishing: approximately 5–10 minutes

Drying times may vary depending on temperature, airflow, application thickness and workshop conditions.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

• The mixed product has a pot life of approximately 2 hours at 20°C.
• Mix only the quantity required for immediate use.
• Do not return mixed material to the original containers.
• Observe the specified 2:1 mixing ratio.
• Confirm compatibility with the selected basecoat and thinner before application.
• Use suitable spray equipment, ventilation and personal protective equipment.
• Refer to the product labels, Technical Data Sheet and Safety Data Sheets before use.
