More about this product

BLUE-CAR Matting Additive is mixed with compatible paints and clearcoats to reduce the gloss level of the finished coating.

The quantity added determines the resulting finish. The manufacturer recommends approximately 50% additive for a semi-matt effect and up to 100% for a fully matt finish.

When correctly mixed and applied, the additive is designed to maintain the flow properties of the coating without reducing its resistance to weathering, mechanical wear or other external influences.

KEY FEATURES

  • Reduces coating gloss – converts compatible gloss coatings into semi-matt or matt finishes.
  • Adjustable finish – the gloss level can be controlled by changing the amount of additive.
  • 50–100% dosage range – approximately 50% for semi-matt and up to 100% for full matt.
  • Maintains coating flow – designed not to impair application properties when correctly mixed.
  • Maintains coating resistance – does not alter the intended weather, mechanical or physicochemical resistance when used correctly.
  • Professional refinishing additive – suitable for bodyshops, paintshops and restoration work.
  • 1L metal can – practical capacity for regular professional use.

SUITABLE FOR

  • Compatible automotive paints
  • Compatible acrylic coatings
  • Compatible clearcoats

APPLICATION

  1. Confirm that the paint or clearcoat is compatible with a matting additive.
  2. Prepare the coating according to its manufacturer’s technical instructions.
  3. Add BLUE-CAR Matting Additive at 50–100% relative to the amount of coating:
    • Approximately 50% for a semi-matt finish
    • Up to 100% for a fully matt finish
  4. Measure the required quantities accurately and mix thoroughly until completely uniform.
  5. Prepare a test panel to confirm the achieved gloss level before coating the complete panel.
  6. Apply the prepared mixture according to the paint or clearcoat manufacturer’s instructions.
  7. Close the container securely immediately after use.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

  • Measure the additive accurately according to the required gloss level.
  • The final finish may vary depending on the coating system, colour, application method and film thickness.
  • Always prepare a test panel before complete application.
  • Confirm compatibility before mixing with products from another manufacturer or paint system.
  • Do not use outside its intended application.
  • The product is flammable.
