BOLL Epoxy Primer 1:1 has a corrosion resistance class of C4M according to ISO 12944-6. This means the product guarantees long-lasting anti-corrosive protection even in industrial environments and with constant exposure to seawater.

More about this product
A two-component epoxy primer based on advanced epoxy resins, providing excellent anti-corrosive properties and adhesion to a wide range of surfaces. It is easy to work with and offers a short drying time.
The primer allows wet-on-wet recoating without sanding within 1-5 hours after application.
BOLL specifies a corrosion resistance classification of C4M according to ISO 12944-6.

SURFACE PREPARATION
Steel, aluminum, galvanized steel and stainless steel
Sand with P320-P400, blow off the dust and degrease with BOLL Silicone Remover, then apply the epoxy primer.
Existing paint coatings
Sand with P220-P400, blow off the dust and degrease with BOLL Silicone Remover, then apply the epoxy primer.
Polyester putty
Sand with P240-P320, blow off the dust and degrease with BOLL Silicone Remover, then apply the epoxy primer.
Acrylic primer
Sand with P220-P320, blow off the dust and degrease with BOLL Silicone Remover, then apply the epoxy primer.
APPLICATION
1. Prepare the surface according to the surface preparation instructions.
2. Stir the epoxy primer thoroughly before use.
3. Mix the epoxy primer with BOLL Hardener for Epoxy Primer 1:1 in a ratio of 1:1 by volume:
- Epoxy primer: 1 part
- Hardener: 1 part
Alternatively, mix by weight:
- Epoxy primer: 100 g
- Hardener: 57 g
4. Add BOLL Epoxy Thinner according to the required application:
Filler version:
- No thinner required
Filler-insulator version:
- By volume: 10-25%
- By weight: 11-27 g per 100 g of epoxy primer
Wet-on-wet version:
- By volume: 30%
- By weight: 33 g per 100 g of epoxy primer
5. Mix all components thoroughly.
6. Recommended flow time using a DIN 4 cup at 20°C:
- Filler-insulator version: 30-50 seconds
- Wet-on-wet version: approximately 18 seconds
7. Pot life of the prepared mixture: 5 hours at 20°C.
8. Spray-gun settings:
- Nozzle: 1.3-1.8 mm
- Pressure: 1.7-2.2 bar
9. Apply 1-3 coats.
10. Allow 5-10 minutes between coats.
11. For wet-on-wet application, recoat without sanding within 1-5 hours after applying the primer.
12. Curing time:
- 5 hours at 20°C
- 30 minutes at 60°C
13. When using short-wave infrared drying:
- Maximum temperature: 90°C
- Drying time: 10-15 minutes
14. When sanding the cured primer:
- Dry sanding: P360-P600
- Wet sanding: P600-P1200

Application temperature: +15°C to +28°C
STORAGE
Protect the product from excessively low and high temperatures.
Avoid direct exposure to sunlight and store in a dry place.
