BOLL Hardener for Epoxy Primer 1:1

BOLL Hardener for Epoxy Primer 1:1 is the curing component for BOLL’s two-component epoxy primer. Mix equal volumes of primer and hardener, adding BOLL Epoxy Thinner as required for the application method. Available in an 800 ml size for mixing with 800 ml of primer.

A dedicated hardener for BOLL Epoxy Primer 1:1.

The prepared primer mixture can be used for filling, filling and insulating, or wet-on-wet application, depending on the amount of BOLL Epoxy Thinner added.

MIXING RATIO

By volume:

• Epoxy Primer 1:1 - 1 part
• Hardener for Epoxy Primer 1:1 - 1 part

By weight:

• Epoxy Primer 1:1 - 100 g
• Hardener for Epoxy Primer 1:1 - 57 g

THINNING

Use BOLL Epoxy Thinner.

The quantities below apply to a mixture of 100 g of primer and 57 g of hardener.

Filler application

No thinner required.

Filler-insulator application

Add 11-27 g of thinner.

Wet-on-wet application

Add 33 g of thinner.

APPLICATION

1. Stir the primer thoroughly before mixing.

2. Add the hardener in the correct ratio.

3. Add BOLL Epoxy Thinner as required for the chosen application method and mix thoroughly.

4. Apply 1-3 coats using a spray gun with a 1.3-1.8 mm nozzle at a pressure of 1.7-2.2 bar.

5. Allow 5-10 minutes between coats.

The application and curing parameters below refer to the prepared primer mixture.

MIXED PRODUCT PARAMETERS

Pot life: 5 hours at 20°C.

Flow time, DIN 4 at 20°C:

• Filler-insulator application: 30-50 seconds
• Wet-on-wet application: approximately 18 seconds

Application temperature: +15°C to +28°C.

DRYING AND CURING

Hardening time:

• At 20°C: 5 hours
• At 60°C: 30 minutes

Short-wave infrared drying: 10-15 minutes, with a maximum temperature of 90°C.

Wet-on-wet recoating: The primer can be recoated without sanding between 1 and 5 hours after application.

Sanding after curing:

• Dry sanding: P360-P600
• Wet sanding: P600-P1200

AVAILABLE SIZE

800 ml: for mixing with 800 ml of BOLL Epoxy Primer 1:1. Add thinner separately where required.

STORAGE

Store in a dry place, away from direct sunlight.

Protect from excessive heat and low temperatures.

Shelf life: 2 years from the production date shown on the packaging.
