Important Information
Do not apply the putty directly over reactive primers (wash primers), one-component acrylic products or nitrocellulose products.
Surface Preparation
Steel : Prime and sand the surface. Blow off sanding dust and degrease using BOLL Silicone Remover, then apply the putty.
Aluminum : Prime and sand the surface. Blow off sanding dust and degrease using BOLL Silicone Remover, then apply the putty.
Old paint coatings : Sand with P320–P400, blow off sanding dust and degrease using BOLL Silicone Remover, then apply the putty.
Epoxy primer : Can be used to isolate materials. Sand with P320, blow off sanding dust and degrease using BOLL Silicone Remover, then apply the putty.
Two-component acrylic primer: Sand with P320–P400, blow off sanding dust and degrease using BOLL Silicone Remover, then apply the putty.
Application
1. Mix the product thoroughly.
2. Thoroughly clean and matt the surface.
3. Thoroughly clean and degrease the surface using BOLL Silicone Remover.
4. Mixing ratio by volume
- Putty: 100 parts
- Hardener: 3–6 parts
- Thinner: 5–10%
5. Mix thoroughly until a uniform colour is obtained. Do not exceed the recommended amount of hardener.
- Pot life: 15 minutes at 20°C
6. Spray-gun application
- Nozzle size: 2.2–3.0 mm
- Air pressure: 3–4 bar
- Number of layers: 1–3
- Maximum total layer thickness: 0.5 mm
7. Hardening time
- 60 minutes at 20°C
- 30 minutes at 60°C
Do not exceed the indicated temperature.
8. Infrared drying
- Pre-curing: 3 minutes
- Final curing: 6 minutes
9. Sanding
- Initial sanding: P180–P240
- Finishing sanding: P240–P320
10. Compatible subsequent coatings
The putty can be overcoated with:
- Two-component acrylic primers
- Two-component epoxy primers
Physical Properties
- Density at 20°C: 1.55–1.65 g/cm³
- Solubility in water: Very slight
- Viscosity: 4,000–7,000 mPa·s
- VOC content: 539.5 g/L (permitted maximum: 540 g/L)
- Application temperature: +10°C to +25°C
Cleaning
Clean application tools immediately after use with nitrocellulose thinner (Nitro) or acrylic thinner.
