BOLL Hardener for Clearcoat HS 2:1

BOLL FAST Hardener is designed for use with BOLL Clearcoat HS 2:1.

BOLL STANDARD Hardener is designed for use with BOLL Clearcoat HS 2:1.

The FAST formulation provides accelerated drying and curing when combined with the clearcoat in the specified proportions.

The STANDARD formulation provides correct drying and curing when combined with the clearcoat in the specified proportions.

The prepared clearcoat mixture requires BOLL Acrylic Thinner to achieve the correct application viscosity.

Supplied as hardener only (Clearcoat lacquer not included).

MIXING RATIO

By volume:

Mix 2 parts BOLL Clearcoat HS 2:1 with 1 part BOLL FAST Hardener for Clearcoat HS 2:1.

Mix 2 parts BOLL Clearcoat HS 2:1 with 1 part BOLL STANDARD Hardener for Clearcoat HS 2:1.

The manufacturer specifies a 10% addition of BOLL Acrylic Thinner.

By weight:

Mix the following quantities:

• BOLL Clearcoat HS 2:1 (by weight 100g)
• BOLL FAST Hardener for Clearcoat HS 2:1 (by weight 49.2g)
• BOLL STANDARD Hardener for Clearcoat HS 2:1 (by weight 48g)
• BOLL Acrylic Thinner 10% (by weight 9g)

The 2:1 clearcoat-to-hardener ratio applies to volume, not weight.

APPLICATION

1. Measure the clearcoat and the FAST or STANDARD hardener according to the mixing ratio above.

2. Add the specified quantity of BOLL Acrylic Thinner.

3. Mix all components thoroughly before application.

4. Apply the prepared mixture following the application instructions for BOLL Clearcoat HS 2:1.

MIXED PRODUCT PARAMETERS

The following values apply to BOLL Clearcoat HS 2:1 mixed with STANDARD or FAST hardener and the specified thinner.

Pot life at 20°C:

• STANDARD hardener: 2 hours
• FAST hardener: 1.5 hours

Flow time: 16-19 seconds using a DIN 4 cup at 20°C.

Application temperature: +15°C to +25°C.

DRYING AND CURING

These times refer to the applied clearcoat mixture.

At 20°C:

With STANDARD hardener:

• Dust-free: 30 minutes
• Operating hardness: 12 hours
• Full hardness: 36 hours

With FAST hardener:

• Dust-free: 20 minutes
• Operating hardness: 9 hours
• Full hardness: 28 hours

At 60°C:

With STANDARD hardener:

• Dust-free: 5 minutes
• Operating hardness: 30 minutes at 60°C, followed by 2 hours at 20°C
• Full hardness: 30 minutes at 60°C, followed by 24 hours at 20°C

With FAST hardener:

• Dust-free: 5 minutes
• Operating hardness: 20 minutes at 60°C, followed by 2 hours at 20°C
• Full hardness: 20 minutes at 60°C, followed by 24 hours at 20°C

Short-wave infrared drying:

• Drying time: 8-12 minutes
• Maximum temperature: 90°C

AVAILABLE SIZES

500 ml FAST

For mixing with 1 L of BOLL Clearcoat HS 2:1 at a 2:1 clearcoat-to-hardener ratio by volume.

2.5 L STANDARD

For mixing with 5 L of BOLL Clearcoat HS 2:1 at a 2:1 clearcoat-to-hardener ratio by volume.

BOLL Acrylic Thinner must also be added as specified.

STORAGE

Store in a dry place, away from direct sunlight.

Protect the product from excessively low and high temperatures.
